Can Microsoft Do With Windows 9 What It Did With Office 365?

Microsoft has seen quite a bit of success in converting its popular MS office suite into Office 365; can it do the same with Windows?

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) announced today the release date for the latest version of its office suite —Office 365. The journey from MS Office to Office 365 is one of Microsoft’s many success stories; from rebranding the suite to changing its offerings, all in a rapidly changing environment where consumers' technological needs are always evolving.
We at Bidness Etc are interested in finding out whether the company can do the same for the upcoming version of its most popular product, Windows. With PC sales having dropped significantly in the past few years, Windows has been facing headwinds. Microsoft tried adapting to the changing industry with its Windows 8, but the move did not bode as well as expected.
Below, Bidness Etc takes a look at some of the latest offerings from Microsoft's Office 365, and provides an update on the much anticipated Windows 9.

According to latest data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) released on June 9, PC sales dropped 1.7% against an estimate of a 7.1% decline. The data further suggested that while the PC industry may be recovering, the threat from the exponential rise in the use of tablets and smartphones has not diminished. For Microsoft, this means it must reinvent the Windows, and change it in such a way that it caters to consumers' shifting preferences, just like it did with Office 365.
With Windows 8, Microsoft tried to develop a unified ecosystem, one that could help the company gain share in the mobile and smartphone markets. Unfortunately, the plan did not work out.
